Protecting God's Children
There are three parts that need to be completed to fulfill the requirements for Protecting God's Children:
1. Attend the Protecting God's Children lecture. These lectures take place periodically at locations throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The latest list can be found here: archstl.org/sep/page/protecting-gods-children.
2. Submit to a background check. There are two forms that need to be submitted to the Parish Offices for the parish to complete a background check. The first is the actual background check form. It is found here. The second form is essentially a consent form allowing the parish to run the background check as needed (we are required to run background checks on every "even" year, like 2010) for all adults that are going to be with children. The consent form is found here. You will also need to provide a copy of your Social Security card to the parish.
3. Complete a Code of Ethical conduct form. First, you will be asked to read the Code of Ethical conduct statement from the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and then you will need to sign the last page indicating that you agree to the Code. These booklets are available in the Entrance area to the Parish Offices.
If you have completed these steps at a different parish, your information can be transferred to St. Alban Roe. Please call the Parish Offices for more information on how to accomplish that.
