St. Alban Roe Mission Outreach

St. Alban Roe parishioners have traveled to Guatemala for mission trips since 2000. The next trip is scheduled for June 2012. Other trips are also under consideration. All parishioners over 16 are welcome to be a part of this life-changing experience. No one can adequately describe how God will work in your life when you give Him control. To learn more about the next trip to Guatemala, contact Tammy Donelson at tammy.donelson@gmail.com and place GUATEMALA in the subject line or contact Jane Guenther about upcoming missions.

How do St. Alban Roe Mission Trips help the poor?

·      77  parishioners have participated in construction, reforestation and VBS during mission trips.

·      1600 lbs. of donated medical supplies and other items were delivered to the clinic, hospital, school, village and local parish each trip.

·      160 families received a Bible, bag of toiletries and a doll or plush toy for the children each trip.

·      200 children attended “Bible Celebration” (VBS) each day and learned of Jesus’ love and salvation each trip.

·      25 CFCA children sponsored by parishioners were visited and given gifts.

·      Over 600 children have been sponsored by parishioners.

·      $2440 was provided by the Basement Sale to supply the doors, windows and labor to complete the village school. The Basement Sale contributes approximately $25,000 each year to mission projects sponsored by Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.

·      $400 was provided by Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary to help two sponsored families that were flooded by heavy rains during our visit in 2009.

·      540 lbs. of the world’s finest coffee was sold in 2009 to support the mission coffee business.

How can you help?

·      Be a part of our Mission Support Team. This group supplies manpower for occasional fundraising projects like our Guatemalan coffee sales, Mardi Gras King’s Cakes, and Cradles of Christ Nativity Display. Most of these projects require only an hour or two. Send your contact information to tammy.donelson@gmail.com.

·      Buy our Guatemalan free trade coffee and support the local farmers who work on the Juan Ana plantation.

·      Volunteer at the St. Alban Roe Mission Outreach Basement Sale supporting our mission efforts. Bring all your unwanted household items to the Basement Sale.

·      Provide medical supplies, toiletries such as soap and shampoo and toothpaste, gently used toys, items such as large parachutes and crafts for Bible Celebration Camp, and Bibles. Hotel toiletries are cherished by the recipients. Please note, we do not have storage for any items. We travel to Guatemala with suitcases full of donated items and return with coffee.

·      Pray for missions and the conversion of hearts.
